GRACE is an interactive cutting-edge dance performance event created and performed by Joe Laughlin, the Dancer and jamie griffiths, the Visualist. They work with performance technology that possesses a natural
organic quality.
The action takes place between and in front of a black scrim and a rear cyclorama where The Dancer & The Visualist interact with each other, the screens, multiple cameras and a rolling technology 'lab'. Creating and responding to self-generated sounds & imagery, together they control the life of the interactive stage. Cutting edge technology utilizes
interactive visual software, remote wireless cameras, motion & audio triggers. Original score by composer, Leonard J. Paul.
GRACE explores the following questions:
· What is life?
· Where does it originate?
· Am I divine?
In search of the soul, GRACE creates a poetic language of imagery and light that reveals the dancing body in non-physical form. A metaphor for the ?real? world, where each action has cause & effect, we are the gods
and orchestrators of our own & each others lives.
