Founded in 1982 with the conviction that living transcultural artistic experiences contribute to the betterment of humankind, OBORO is an artist centre that favours the development of art practices locally, nationally and internationally. OBORO's sphere of activity encompasses visual and media arts, new technologies, new performing arts and emerging practices.

Founded in 1982, One Yellow Rabbit's mandate has always been to forge a theatrical voice that is experimental yet professional, challenging yet captivating, and indigenous in that it is conceived and performed by artists from Calgary, and about subjects that matter here. The expression "performance theatre" describes a form that blends elements like drama, dance, poetry and monologue into an unpredictable whole.

OPEN SPACE as an exhibition and performance centre reflects the wide diversity of contemporary art practices in
Greater Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, and abroad.

The work presented at OPEN SPACE is a cross fertilization of experiences between artists from disparate geographical locations and cultural sensibilities, brought together in a critical dialogue based in contemporary art issues.
