JAMIE GRIFFITHS visual performance and technology artist, film director.
Jamie's visual creativity and technical fluency with interactive technology combines projected media with performance commissions for orchestra, new music, opera, dance and theatre projects.

"In my own work, I synthesize traditional film techniques, with interactive technologies. Live music triggers effects and alters sequences of the films. I work to bring innovative, new performance technologies to established disciplines of opera, orchestra, new music and dance. 'Interdisciplinary' speaks to me of artistic work that crosses these boundaries, within a single piece of work. 'Interactive' means that the performers can control aspects of the performance from the stage, with voice, motion or their choreographic choices. The technology is 'alive' in that no two shows will be identical, night-to-night. I prefer to use the european term 'LIVE ART' to describe this kind of work. I have a deep love for music visualization and using technology to harness the power of motion and sound. Ultimately I am seeking to bring mythic and mystical hidden quantum forces into the art. I care deeply about the human and spiritual condition."
